Job Description

The Procurement Officer is responsible for managing the purchasing process of goods and services, including sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotes, and negotiating terms.They ensure timely delivery, maintain supplier databases, and monitor inventory levels while adhering to budgetary constraints.The role requires strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supplier Sourcing: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors for goods and services
  • Purchasing: Purchase products and materials based on business needs, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness
  • Negotiation: Negotiate terms, prices, and delivery schedules with suppliers to secure the best deals
  • Contract Management: Prepare and manage procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements
  • Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and reorder materials to maintain optimal inventory levels
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable and timely deliveries
  • Cost Analysis: Track and analyze procurement costs to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements
  • Market Research: Stay informed on market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions
  • Order Processing: Ensure timely processing of purchase orders, ensuring accurate and on-time deliveries
  • Quality Control: Ensure that purchased goods meet required quality standards and specifications
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, ethical standards, and legal regulations in the procurement process
  • Reporting: Maintain procurement records and provide regular reports on purchasing activities and savings

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree
  • 4 years Experience
